November 26, 2009

Hello! Today was a great day! My temp this morning was 37.7 Celsius so it's up! I think yesterday
was just a blip. I am hoping anyway.

Last night, hubby and I did the BD with Preseed. I think it was a good one - I even lifted my hips u with a
pillow for safety measures. This BD was two days after my supposed ovulation time so I really do think we
did everything we possibly can under our own personal circumstance.

Here are what we did differently this month:
1) consistent weekly acupuncture
2) herbs including the pill version and the tea
3) Fertilaid For Men
4) green tea for me
5) ginseng tea for hubby
6) aloe vera
7) stopped breastfeeding
8) good timing on fertile period as hubby was on days off.
9) used the infamous Pre-Seed.

So currently, I have no symptoms aside from very light cramping. There is CM but I think it
was mostly from our BD last night. That's pretty much it. I am forever stalking www.twoweekwait.com!

Oh yeah, before I forget, yesterday, I was so famished and my thirst hasn't been quenched since.
I also continued to take the herbs after a two day skip.

That's all for now. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Hi! I am sorry that I’ve been MIA the last couple of days. Normally, I would write this during my train ride but recently, I’ve been preoccupied with something else. I apologize!
Okay, so as you may know, I should have ovulated on the 23rd. So we did the BD from the 19th until the 23rd. We tried again yesterday for safe measure but unfortunately, things didn’t work out. My OPKs were positive on the 20th and 21st. Negative from there on in. My past cycles also indicate that I should be ovulating that day. The problem? Well, I took my BBT on Monday and it was 36.6 Celsius (though I tried several times – it hovered between 35.5 to .6. I then took my temperature several times and it was back down to 36.4 Celsius. What does that really mean? I didn’t ovulate? Mind you, there was a humidifier that was making the whole room cold but it has always been there the many times I have taken a temperature and saw a rise. Sigh, I don’t know what to think! Has anyone out there received a failed BBT and still got a BFP? Help!
I stopped taking my herbs since I ovulated. I would still like to play it safer this time around. I asked my practitioner and she mentioned that I had a spleen-qi blood deficiency constitution. Whatever that means. I don’t know.
I had pineapples yesterday as I had read somewhere that they help with implantation. While I was eating it, I further read on that I shouldn’t eat it while trying to conceive because it may cause uterine contractions. Arrgh! Who do I believe? By the way, those pineapples were yummy!
We shall try again tonight. After this, I would be in my two week wait. I really hoped I ovulated. After reading all the Pre-Seed successes out there, I am so jealous!
Okay, I guess that’s all there is for now. I will try to take photos so I can make this site a little bit more interesting.
I will see you in a bit!
Okay, so it has been 8 hours since I have written above. I just wanted to mention that my sister in law gave birth today – pushing for only half an hour – to a 6.75 lbs baby girl! Having found out while I was at work was tough – I wanted to see baby right away! Then the sinking feeling started to take over – I was so incredibly happy for them but at the same time so painfully jealous! Especially when there’s an indication that I may not have ovulated this month when I thought would have been a perfect execution of many baby-making actions! AAAHHH! I wish, I just wish.

November 21, 2009

Hello! Today's Saturday. Sorry I missed yesterday, I got really busy and I didn't want to do this haphazardly.

So yesterday was CD18. Hubby and I did the BD early in the morning with Pre-seed again. I inserted it high up that I actually felt dry in some areas. I hope that was okay! I did lie down for 20 minutes then went to work.

Today was CD 19. Hubby and I did the BD early in the morning again with PS. I am still not getting any CM though the OPK is showing a very close positive. As per websites, I should be ovulating tomorrow or Monday. Still no EWCM - no CM for that matter. What is going on?

I am continuing the herbs and aloe vera. I still haven't started taking my basal temperature. It may be too late this cycle.

4 more days of BD then will give it a rest for this cycle.

See you all tomorrow!

Hubby and I did the BD last night. I tried Pre-seed with this one. It was a strange feeling as
it didn't feel natural to be that moisturized! Oddly as well that hubby didn't notice!

Took an OPK - second line is getting darker but still not as dark as the control line. Some website
show that I will ovulate on the 20th, 21st and the 22nd. Who really knows? All I know is that
we will try to do the BD every day (against my acupuncturist's recommendation), I just can't NOT do anything knowing\
that there's a chance that I could be ovulating each of those days.

I am continuing to take the herbs, skipped the aloe vera (felt like I drank too much
yesterday). Oh I forgot to mention - way before all this, I've been taking prenatal vitamins.

I had posted this URL to a couple of online ads - just wanted to share my story to whoever would like
to listen - to whoever could relate, whoever want to set me straight! So if you're reading this due to my ads,
thank you. I would like to hear your story - or any comments you may have.

Happy Thursday!

See you tomorrow!

November 18, 2009
I was telling a coworker that I will skip acupuncture this week. I felt like I have spent tons of
money already with this that perhaps I could save at least $50 this week. However, that friend
convinced me otherwise. She reminded me that I should be doing it regularly so the process
would be building momentum. She added that if I stopped now, then the effect of the last
three session would subside considerably.

So I went. I went back to Dr. W - the one who inadvertently left a needle in me. There was something
about him that inspite of what had happened, he had gained my trust.

He took my pulse as usual and mentioned that I am doing a lot better than last time. My pulse was good however,
there's some sort of healing needed in my large intestine. He said that after my first pregnancy, my
large intestine hasn't completely recovered yet. He did some palpitations and then went to work.
He and this other lady put needles - a lot - all over my front. Did I mention a lot?
oddly, each needle relaxed me. There was a bit of pulling on my right tummy though.
Oh and something new happened today - he put some table salt, some other sandy thing and this
cottony grey brown thing on my belly button. Then he lit some sort of insence. I mean, I couldn't see
but there was definitely smoke coming out of my belly! He said that it was to warm my feet.
It was odd but I went along with it. By this time, I was completely relaxed.

Okay so, I don't think I should go to Dr. Y anymore. First of all, it's too far! Last Monday, I was there for my
refills and it took two hours to get home. Secondly, I just found out that Dr. W has an
herbalist on residence every Friday - and the best part - it's free! Yehay! So that saves me about
$100 each month from Dr. Y.

I would also like to mention that i am producing a lot more saliva than normal. I pointed it out to Dr. W, and he was joyous! He said that my kidney is definitely
getting better. Another thing, he mentioned that I should start back on taking my basal temperature so I can pinpoint
when ovulation had taken place. He suggested that hubby and I should do the BD two days before O, during, and two days
after. He added that this would give hubby's 'men' to get stronger! Lastly, he addressed that he's helping me along to lose some belly
fat. Who would object? Not me!

So today is CD 17 - the O day is coming fast! I am continuing my herbal regimen as well as the aloe vera.

See you all tomorrow!

November 17, 2009

Today, I had noticed a little bit of CM. Did an OPK - the second line was alot lighter than the first.
I plugged in my numbers at an ovulation calculator and they suggested that I my fertile
days would start tomorrow. I should also start testing with an OPK. So I did.

Since my hubby is working the night shift tomorrow, I don't think we would be able to do the BD.
It might just have to be on Thursday. We shall see.

I got my herb refill yesterday. It's good for two weeks. I am getting used to the taste - it's getting
to be tolerable. The only issue I have now is the staining of my teeth! The tea is so black with a latte
consistency that I feel that my teeth are suffering each night! I have to brush my teeth right away.

I think that's all from me today! See you tomorrow!

November 16, 2009
Yesterday, my day was so packed I forgot to drink my green tea and aloe vera. I also noticed that I didn’t take two of the six herbs that were prescribed to me the day before yesterday. Wow, it’s hard to keep track of all these things that I have taken on.
I did notice today that my CM was lotiony. A lot – but not stretchy at all. I am on CD14. I took an OPK test yesterday and today and both had a light second line. Yesterday’s second line was darker though. Ah well, I doubt I ovulated this early so I know I didn’t miss anything by this AM’s OPK being light.
Okay, so I had time to think about the past 3 cycles and here are my learnings.
Cycle 1 CD1 – July 19, AF August 23, 2009 – 35 days
Cycle 2 CD1 – August 23, AF September 29, 2009 – 37 days
Cycle 3 CD1- September 29, AF November 2 – 33 days
Wow, I am all over the place! I guess, average it out would the 35 days. We’ll see how it goes this month!
I also want to note that I purchased a few things to supposedly help me along with this.
1) Basal Thermometer – $10
2) The Justisse Method of Fertility Booklet with Chart and Stickers - $40
This thing is still in awesome condition. It was a fast read. I wasn’t dedicated enough to do the sticker thing and man, I need some training on doing intensive autopsy of my CM. Seriously.
3) Two packages of Fertilitea - $30 – never opened – couldn’t take due to breastfeeding. Should have checked before purchasing
4) A bottle of FertileCM $25 – took only capsules before backing out due to same reason above. Though this one was supposed to be safe – but I wanted to be safer.
5) A bottle of Men’s FertileAid $30 – Hubby still taking.
6) 200 OPK + 40 Pregnancy tests - $60
7) Additional Pregnancy Tests - $25
Peecup - $1.00
9) More pregnancy tests (midstream) $30
10) Answer’s Tips for Healthy Conception (or something like that) $20 – this book was a waste for me…everything is so basic, it was just common sense. Pretty book though!
11) Pre-Seed $23 – still new – haven’t tried it yet.
12) Mounds of green tea – raspberry tea - $10
13) This netbook - $350.
14) A mouse - $30
15) Aloe Vera Gel Bottles X 2 - $40 (cheaper at health food store than at the acupuncturist’s office)
16) TiaoJing Cuyun Wan X 2 - $20
17) Herbs (3 weeks worth) - $65
18) Acupuncture sessions - $350.
OUCH! Okay, I have to take it down a notch. I think everything is under control now though, I am comfortable with the regimen now so nothing unexpected budget-wise should happen.
BTW, I had a cupcake today from the best bakery in town. I know I shouldn’t but couldn’t resist. It was so yummy!
TTYL!

Novmber 14, 2009

Hello,
I am feeling a lot better than yesterday. Nothing extraordinary happened today. Took my tea and aloe vera like a champ. Today is CD12. Resting up for the next leg of this race! LOL!

November 13, 2009
Today is our anniversary. Unfortunately, my husband is working the night shift so there would be no dinner or roses today. I did get great cards from him and our son today. They totally made my day.
Okay , so I continue to take the dreadful tea mixture and the aloe vera. They are painfully hard to swallow but like I said, it’s worth the try.
Did I ever mention what were the herbs prescribed to me? Well, there were 7 herbs in total. They all came in these single dosage packaging – good for one week.
They are as follows:
1) Milkvetch (Huang Qi)
2) Largehead Atractylodes (Bai Zhu)
3) Rehmannia Root (Sheng Di Huang)
4) Common Yam (Shan Yao)
5) Indian Bread (Fu Ling)
6) Oriental Waterplantain (Zexi)
7) Porria
Directions: Add contents of the above herbs into a cup. Pour one cup of boiling water and stir until completely dissolved. Let it tcool to room temperature, plug your nose and drink entire cup once a day. Take the herbal presecription once a day 30 minutes after meal for 7 days.
So there it is, my daily routine. Yummy! Today is CD 11. Nothing eventful. I sure hope these herbs and acupuncture session is doing something aside from burning a hole in my pocket!
See you tomorrow!
PS. My cold is worse. Yuck

November 12, 2009

I was woken up today by hubby for a BD. Same thing happened – large amounts of CM! I couldn’t believe it!
Just to note, I am not feeling well today. My throat is still scratchy and I have had a massive headache since I woke up this morning. I went to work but now I am on the train home while writing this. It’s only 12:30PM.

November 11, 2009

I am off work today. Hubby and I did a quick BD and I have to comment on the amount of CM that I had! I know that it wasn’t seminal fluid as we didn’t quite get there due to time restraints. I was so shocked by the amount. I managed to take a sample and study it a little – it was slippery, it was 90% clear but it was definitely not stretchy. My immediate thought was, it could be the aloe vera that I was drinking. I read that it helps in that area. We’ll see for next time.

November 10, 2009

14. November 2009 by admin.
I was browsing for a new acupuncture clinic due to the not so pleasant esperience wth Dr. A. I had found several ways away from work but they specialized in fertility. So I booked myself at the end of the day. Dr. Y was a pleasant youngish girl who attended to me. She went through the drill of askin g me questions about AF and ovulation. She then looked at my tongue and tookl my pulse. She statede that my pulse was pretty weak. She mentioned that TiaoJing Cuyun Wan was good to take however she has a better mixture of herbs that is tailored for me and for the current stage of my cycle. She performed acupuncture – only about 15 needles or so. In the end, she gave me some herbs for $25 for a whole week’s worth. Fees – consultation $45 – 30 minute acupuncture $75. Pretty steep here – so much cheaper at Dr. W. with so many more needles!

Once I got home, I got the feeling that I just wasted my money for the consultation and acupuncture part of the session. I emailed Dr.Y and asked if there’s any way I can just get the herbal medicines from her but have the acupuncture elsewhere. She replied, telling me that it was just fine. Of course, I had to ask how muuch should I expect to pay with the herbs – half hoping there wouldn’t be an herbal medicine consultation fee. She hasn’t responded since.
As for the herbs, I tried it that night. Boy, she was right, they were pretty awful tasting! Together, the mixture looked like coffee but oh man, does it ever taste revolting! I chugged it down but it was an effort to keep it down. We shall see what happens!

My Acupuncture Adventure

So what started this alternative attitude? Well I was on a cruise ship and I thought I would try something new. I guess I was feeling brave as I didn’t care about the needling aspect of it. So I went for a consultation - and lo and behold - she confirmed that acupuncture aided in fertility! Okay, let us do it! $150 dollars and 45 minutes later – I was surprisingly relaxed and excited! I could get used to this!
The dr. suggested that I come in for more treatments though but at that price, I had to really think hard. In the end, that was my only session in the ship. I even turned down a good sales pitch of this fertility herb pills - Longevity by jou. It was $95 a pop!
Good thing I did, because after a quick research - the going rate was only $75 CDN a session. The herbs here were only going for $10 a pop. Sure, the herbs are not the same but truthfully, I was never a fan of them. I was still breastfeeding so it made the decision easy.
Upon arrival from our vacation - i was quick to research an acupuncture place that would be able to provide some sort of regiment or program specifically for me. I had decided on one close to my work. It’s led by an acupuncturist who has 20 years experience. He seemed nice enough but the place seemed like a hospital room - there was nothing very spa-like like in the ship. I could hear everything - the groans, the moans, the complaints, the laughter from behind the blue curtains. My acupuncturist - let us call him Dr. W. - was quick and fast - sometimes muttering words that sounded like chants. He put needles all over when I was on my back then did the same when I was on my tummy. I felt really relaxed even with all the background noise.
I got home and I felt some cramping on my left side. I guess, it was okay as I thought my period was causing the pulling sensation. When I was sitting in front of the computer, I noticed an area of my shirt was a little lifted.
I looked underneath and lo and behold, there was still a needle stuck in me! I quickly pulled it out and I immediately went into panic mode. What if it went very far in when I was on my tummy and punctured some organs? What if a piece of it had broken off and was on its way to my pierce my heart – or ovaries?
I called Dr. W the next day and he tried to reassure me. He said that sometimes needles are left in for as long as a few days and that the needles on my tummy were put in an angle. He also added that in order to touch any organs, he would have had to use a 3 inch needle – not the 2 inch ones that I had. Regardless, I was not impressed with this experience!

My First 'Help'

We had the BD on the 7th, 9th, 11th’ 14th, 16th, 17th’ 19th, 19, 20th.I even had acupuncture on the 26th for fertility. October 2nd - AF made her arrival.
I had acupuncture on the 2nd again for a full hour. Was advised to take the herbal pills called TiaoJing Cuyun Wan. There are about 10X5g in each box. I have to take these 50 little balls with warm water in the morning and at night.
Now I was I was also given a large bottle of Aloe vera Gel to drink daily. I checked the internet about this and they say that aloe vera should be taken on CD7. I started taking it CD2 - i donèt think there’s any harm in getting started early besides possibly wasting it. What does it look like? Well, it looks like lemonade with shreds of pulp. It tastes really bitter” since I was advised that I should avoid cold drinks, they suggested I take it with ginger tea. so I do, and it still doesnt taste any better. Truthfully, it tastes better cold!
